Match of the Week: Team Liquid vs Cloud9
This week saw an amazing clash between Team Liquid and Cloud9.
Team Liquid needed a win to make the playoffs, and responded with one of their best performances of the season with Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen and Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong playing aggressively from the start.
However, Liquid were unable to sustain their momentum and Cloud9 eventually took over with stronger pushes, claiming two of TL’s base inhibitors.
Liquid found themselves out of position as they tried to prevent Cloud9 from entering their base when Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme and Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen teleported straight in via Abyssal Voyage and backdoored the final turret and Nexus.
A disappointing season sees the reigning LCS champions end the Spring Split in 9th place and out of the playoffs.
Player of the Week: Robert “Blaber” Huang
Cloud9’s Blaber was a dynamic jungler in their match against Evil Geniuses, proving that the roaming position has a lot to offer to its team. Other than securing the Cloud drake, the Gragas player dominated in kills and assists, even ending the game with a triple-kill ace.
