North American squad, Team Liquid, has been eliminated from the League of Legends World Championship, losing to Chinese team Invictus Gaming in the last game of the Group Stage.
With a spot in the quarterfinals on the line, the Group D game got off to a quick start with Invictus’ Song “Rookie” Eui-jin’s Qiyana getting a solo kill and first blood against TL Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen’s LeBlanc.
The kill was made possible thanks to an insane Flash and Ignite spell combo.
Rookie’s play was just one of several crucial early game moments that led to Invictus winning lane control.
Invictus’ top-laner Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok also had a great game on Vladimir, dealing out massive amounts of damage, as seen in this late-game clash.

In the end, Liquid was unable to recover from their poor start, and with a 10,000 gold advantage and nine towers taken down, Invictus was able to clean up and finish off the game just before the 25-minute mark.
Team Liquid was the third and final American team to be eliminated from Worlds.
Invictus Gaming will advance to the Worlds 2019 Quarterfinals along with seven other teams: Damwon Gaming, G2 Esports, Griffin, SK Telecom T1, Splyce, Funplus Phoenix, and Fnatic.
The knockout stage starts on October 26.
