The 2020 League of Legends World Championship 2020 will be taking place from 25 September to 31 October in Shanghai, China. Competing teams from all over the world are in the process of flying in, meeting quarantine requirements, and are set to compete in the first ever global offline esports event since the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
In celebration of Worlds, a League of Legends esports exhibition has been staged within the Shanghai Metro. Located at the Cultural Corridor along Shanghai Metro Line 2 and Nanjing East Road Line 10, it documents LPL’s achivements in the history of LoL esports from 2013 to 2019.
The highlight of the exhibition is the coveted Summoner’s Cup showcase, which LPL teams Invictus Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix took home in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Other items displayed include the gold medal that the Chinese League of Legends team won at the Asian Games 2018 and their jersey, and the Rift Rivals 2017 plaque that was won by the efforts of four LPL teams (Edward Gaming, Royal Never Give Up, Oh My God and Team WE).

Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski was also seen featured on the circular “X marks the spot” display which reads “Shanghai, the landing site of Worlds 2020”.
The last global esports event held in Shanghai was The International 2019, where Shanghai Metro train cars along Line 8 featured Dota 2 characters.
