With Rise of the Elementals nearing the end of its set-life, Riot is introducing some changes to the loot system and balancing some of the more OP traits.
Items
Riot has tweaked a few items to make them more usable earlier in the game and not so overpowered in the endgame.
Kogmaw’s essential item Luden’s Echo got a quick damage alteration (125/175/250 ⇒ 150/175/225) while Infinity Edge received a slight nerf on its critical damage (125% ⇒ 100%).
As for the buffed items, Ionic Spark is more reliable with a slight damage increase (200% ⇒ 225%) while Statik Shiv now packs a stronger shock through your enemy’s team (80 ⇒ 85).
As for loot, the regenerating Krugs now guarantee two drops minimum for your hard effort. Riot has also taken Spatulas out of the carousel stage, but in exchange, more gold, more spatulas, and fewer champions will come from gold loot boxes.
There’s also a new sound mechanic that plays when you pick up a champion on the carousel so you don’t have to guess whether or not you got a sought-after champion.
Traits
To counter early game 6-stacks that obliterate the competition, Riot has toned down some of the stronger compositions in the game.
The Light origin received a significant debuff with its heal (25% ⇒ 20%) and its attack speed bonus (15%/35%/55% ⇒ 20%/30%/50%).
Its counterpart, Shadow, also suffered a 10% decrease in its damage bonus (65%/175% ⇒ 65%/165%).
Meanwhile, Lunar received a small buff on its AP bonus per stack (10 ⇒ 15), making them a quick add-on to any warden-mystic comp.
Champions
Electric warden Ornn got a solid increase in his skill’s debuff duration (4sec ⇒ 10sec) and damage amplification (20% ⇒ 25%), making him a quick and worthy pick-up in the beginning phase.
Annie’s BFF Tibbers got a massive health upgrade (2000/2000/2000 ⇒ 1600/2200/3000) with a quick bump on his attack speed (0.6 ⇒ 0.65).
Finally, Yorick’s ghouls got nerfed, and now take more mana to summon (0/75 ⇒ 0/85). They also have less health at two stars (500/800/2000 ⇒ 500/700/2000).
