The League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) 2019 Group Stage has just ended, and with it came exciting plays from the different teams of different leagues.

Fan favorites SK Telecom T1 (SKT), Fnatic (FNC), Invictus Gaming (IG), and Team Liquid (TL) all showed insane games. Here are some of the best plays during the Worlds 2019 Group Stage.

FNC Nemesis outplays SKT Faker

Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek of European team Fnatic (FNC) certainly did not hold back against three-time Worlds Champion SK Telecom T1 (SKT) Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok during their deciding match for Group C.

SKT Faker’s Akali used Five Point Strike which slowed down FNC Nemesis’ Veigar. Just as FNC Nemesis retreated under the turret, SKT Faker dashed towards him which saw him take a ton of damage from FNC’s mid tower, and the eventual kill on Faker.

G2 Perkz manages to survive a 2v4 clash

How do you escape four hungry Korean Summoners in the Rift, out to get you in the bottom lane? Let’s ask G2 Luka “Perkz” Perković, who got away from the jaws of death with a sliver of health against four of Griffin’s players.

G2 Perkz’s Zoe and G2 Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle’s Shen were both cornered by Griffin. Unfortunately G2 Mikyx’s Shen did not survive, but G2 Perkz managed to do so after dodging numerous skill shots.

Level 1 invade Clutch Gaming vs Fnatic

All five members of both teams Clutch Gaming (CG) and Fnatic (FNC) carried out an invade during the first seconds of the game. The teams headed straight for the bottom lane bushes, and pounced at each other immediately.

While all five of Fnatic’s members got out alive, Clutch Gaming’s support and jungler CG Philippe “Vulcan” Laflamme’s Pyke and CG Nam “Lira” Tae-yoo’s Lee Sin unfortunately did not make it out of the clash.

SKT Faker makes the great escape

With SKT Faker’s Ryze trapped inside the Baron Nashor pit with Royal Never Give Up’s (RNG) members freely harassing him, the South Korean mid-player did the impossible and dodged most of the attacks. With just a pixel of HP left, SKT Faker escaped with Ryze’s ultimate ability Realm Warp which teleported him out of danger.

Ez for 3Z

Hong Kong Attitude’s (HKA) Chen “3z” Han pulled off a magnificent top lane outplay against Griffin’s (GRF) Choi “Sword” Sung-won and GRF Lee “Tarzan” Seung-yong.

HKA 3z’s Gangplank came out on top after being ganked by GRF Sword’s Darius and GRF Tarzan’s Elise. The supposedly favorable gank for Griffin turned into a bloodbath as HKA 3z then executed a double kill.

Faker survives a 1v4

SKT Faker continued to impress at Worlds 2019, this time with another escape as Akali. He unknowingly walked to the bottom lane tribush where four of Clutch Gaming’s members were waiting for him.

Despite the trap laid by CG, Faker casually used Perfect Execution into a Shuriken Flip to get away — and he didn’t even need to use his Flash for it.

RNG Uzi’s Xayah is unstoppable

Royal Never Give Up (RNG) was able to prevent Fnatic (FNC) from killing the Baron Nashor, thanks to a major boost from RNG Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao’s Xayah. The insane amount of damage from the RNG bot laner was enough not only to stop FNC from getting the buff, but to get an Ace against the LEC team as well.

TL Impact saves the day

Team Liquid’s Jeong “Impact” Eon-yeong has certainly made his impact during the third day of the Worlds Group Stage. Using Renekton, TL Impact absorbed almost all the damage that came in from ahq e-Sports club (AHQ) members.

AHQ Kim “Rainbow” Soo-gi’s Qiyana got off an early clash advantage by landing a great Supreme Display of Talent among TL members. TL Impact, however, saved the day with his great entrance while the rest of his team members picked off AHQ Tsou “Wako” Wei-Yang’s Kai’Sa.

Faker: Not even close

SKT Faker continued his escaping ways, and despite RNG’s attempts to finish off the mid-laner, Faker’s Twisted Fate just side-stepped his way to safety.

SKT Faker, SKT Khan, and SKT Clid is a triple threat

Probably the most action-packed fight during the Group Stage was the match between Worlds champs RNG and SKT. The game started pretty equally, with amazing outplays from both teams.

However, SKT”s iconic trio and their three Teleport spells was all it took for the South Korean team to snatch victory from RNG, with SKT Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s Twisted Fate, SKT Kim “Khan” Dong-ha’s Renekton, and SKT Kim “Clid” Tae-min’s Gragas doing a backdoor to the enemy Nexus.
