This adaptability makes him a steady hero pick compatible with many team compositions. Nonetheless, mastering him can be quite challenging.
In this ONE Esports guide, we cover everything you need to know about mastering Gloo, including the best item build, recommended emblems, best battle spells, and easy combos.
Gloo’s skills in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Passive – Stick, Stick
Enemies gain a stack of Sticky each time they’re hit by Gloo’s skills, decreasing Movement Speed for a duration. Stacks for a specific number of times. Each stack of Sticky on an enemy reduces the damage dealt to Gloo.
- Maximize the effects of this passive by continuously attacking and using skills on enemies to maintain maximum stacks.
- Each stack ensures they remain slowed and easier to target, and boosts your survivability.
- Communicate with your team to focus on enemies with high stacks, making it easier for allies to land their skills and secure kills.
First skill – Slam, Slam
Gloo reaches out and slams the ground, dealing Magic Damage to the enemy. On the final location, a Goo is left behind, and after a while, it explodes to deal Magic Damage to nearby enemies, immobilizing them for a quick duration. Gloo can also make the Goo explode immediately by touching it.
- Start fights by slamming the ground where enemies are grouped, causing immediate disruption and damage.
- Follow up with Pass, Pass to immobilize enemies already slowed by Slam, Slam, amplifying your crowd control.
Second skill – Pass, Pass
Gloo stretches forth to deal Magic Damage to enemies in its path, immobilizing them for a quick duration. If this skill hits a Goo, Gloo will charge over to it, dragging enemies in its path over with it.
- Use Pass, Pass to initiate fights by dashing into enemy damage dealers, setting up for your team’s follow-up attacks.
- Utilize Pass, Pass to dash through enemies and reposition yourself or escape dangerous situations.
- Coordinate with your team to focus on your target, taking advantage of the enemy’s immobilized state to secure kills.
Ultimate – Split, Split
Gloo splits himself to smaller gloos for a duration. They each have a percent of the original Gloo’s max HP. During this time all Goos can move together freely as they increase their Movement Speed. Gloo recovers a percentage of his Max HP every second and deals Magic Damage to the target.
Grab, Grab: Gloo attaches itself to a target enemy hero with full Sticky stacks, immediately regaining a percentage of its own Max HP, during which it cast skills with cooldown times halved, but cannot move.
Basic Attacks deal Magic Damage at its current location, and a percentage of the damage it receives (before damage reduction) is transmitted to its host as Magic Damage, a percentage of this regained as its own HP (excludes damage from Turrets). Lasts for a duration.
- This enables Gloo to split into multiple mini-globs, attaching to enemies and dealing continuous damage. Reactivating the ultimate allows Gloo to take control of an enemy hero, hindering their movements.
- Use Split, Split in the middle of team fights to cause chaos and constant damage to multiple enemies.
- Attach to high-priority targets like mages or marksmen to disrupt their positioning and output, rendering them less effective in fights.
- While attached to an enemy, you become harder to target and can mitigate damage taken by reattaching to different enemies, spreading the disruption across the enemy team.

Recommended battle spell
When it comes to Battle Spells, Flicker helps Gloo engage.
Flicker can be used to initiate fights or close the gap between Gloo and key enemy targets. This can catch opponents off guard, allowing Gloo to use his “Pass, Pass” skill to immobilize them.
Moreover, combining Flicker with Gloo’s ultimate, “Split, Split”, creates opportunities to attach to high-priority targets like mages or marksmen who usually hide in the back lines.
Sprint is another good option for the Swamp Spirits. It allows you to quickly reposition during team fights or when chasing down enemies.
Gloo’s playstyle relies on sticking to opponents with his skills, and Sprint gives you extra movement speed to catch up with mobile heroes or escape dangerous situations.
Additionally, Sprint can help Gloo maximize his crowd-control abilities, making it harder for enemies to escape once he starts applying his sticky skills.
Recommended emblem
Opt for the Basic Common emblem to get a boost in Hybrid Regen, HP, and Adaptive Attack.
For the Swamp Spirits, the optimal emblem talents are Agility, Tenacity and Brave Smite.
Agility boosts your Movement Speed, helping you stick to enemies and reposition quickly in fights, crucial for applying crowd-control abilities.
Tenacity increases your durability by granting extra defense when your HP is low. This allows you to absorb more damage and survive longer in team battles.
Brave Smite restores HP when you hit enemies with your skills. Since most of your skills have low cooldowns, this keeps you sustained during fights and makes you harder to take down.
Alternatively, you can pick Wilderness Blessing as your second talent and War Cry as your main talent. Wilderness Blessing grants you additional mobility in the jungle and river areas, which is crucial for team fight control.
War Cry boosts your damage output after you hit enemies with consecutive Basic Attacks or skills.
Gloo best build
After boots, prioritize getting Glowing Wand. Purchasing this item in the early game enhances Gloo’s damage output with burn effects that work well with his multi-hit skills, allowing him to pressure opponents.
This is also a good item to counter regeneration-based heroes who are typically played in the EXP lane like Esmeralda, Yu Zhong, and Uranus.

Transition into the mid-game with Antique Cuirass to reduce physical damage from enemy marksmen and fighters.
Get Oracle next which provides much-needed sustain by boosting healing and shields, making Gloo harder to take down in team fights.
As the game progresses into the late game, Athena’s Shield helps Gloo survive against strong magic burst damage. You can also opt for Radiant Armor if the enemy mage deals continuous Magic Damage.
Finally, purchase Immortality. The item adds a crucial second chance in critical moments, allowing you to revive and rejoin fights.
This build order ensures that Gloo remains effective at all stages of the game, balancing damage, defense, and sustain.
The best build for Gloo in Mobile Legends
- Tough Boots
- Glowing Wand
- Antique Cuirass
- Oracle
- Athena’s Shield or Radiant Armor
- Immortality
Tips and easy combos
Gloo is a highly versatile tank that, when played correctly, can dominate team fights in the Land of Dawn.
In terms of skill order, prioritize maxing your first skill first for increased damage and slow effect, followed by your second skill for better crowd control. Upgrade Split, Split whenever available.
An easy skill combo for the Swamp Spirits is starting with “Pass, Pass” to dash through enemies to immobilize them. Follow up with “Slam, Slam”. Immediately use this skill to deal damage and slow enemies.
Once the enemy is sufficiently low, use your ultimate to split into globs and stick to your target, dealing continuous damage.
While attached, re-engage enemies or escape if necessary by reactivating the ultimate.
