A bard and demon hunter wrapped in one, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang marksman Granger wanders the Land of Dawn with a violin that is as deadly as it is musical.
Orphaned during the war, he was taken in by the Imperial Army where he honed his unique skills to become one of the deadliest heroes in the game.

The Death Chanter’s primary strength is high burst damage potential and reliable scaling. He does not rely on mana but reloads bullets instead, giving him an edge in both quick and prolonged fights.
In this ONE Esports guide, we will dive deeper into his abilities, strategies, and the best build to maximize his potential.
Granger’s skills in Mobile Legends
Passive – Caprice
Granger can fill his gun with up to a certain number of bullets at a time.
The last bullet deals Critical Damage. Granger’s Basic Attack will deal extra Physical Damage, and he gains a percentage of Attack Speed from equipment or emblems.
- This can give him an edge in sustained fights where other heroes might run out of mana.
- The ability works hand in hand with his first skill, Rhapsody.
First Skill – Rhapsody
Granger fills his gun with all bullets and shoots them forward. Each bullet deals Physical Damage. More damage is inflicted on enemy and neutral creeps.
- This skill is a powerful poke ability. Use it to harass enemy laners from a distance, and clear minion waves.
- Max this skill first. The higher the level of this ability, the faster you will impact fights with your damage.
Second Skill – Rondo
Granger blinks in the designated direction, and his next Basic Attacks deal extra Damage for a duration. Each time Rhapsody hits an enemy unit, the cooldown of this skill will be reduced.
- This makes Granger highly mobile, allowing him to reposition during team fights or escape when necessary.
- Offensively, this skill makes it easier for you to land Rhapsody. Manually cast it in the direction of your target.
- Defensively, time your skill usage. Often, enemies will try to force you to use the ability since it is the hero’s only mobility skill.
Ultimate – Death Sonata
Granger transforms his violin into a super cannon and fills it with every bullet. He then shoots Super Bullets forward at a time. The Super Bullet ignores minions along the way and only hits enemy heroes and creeps.
Super Bullets will explode upon hitting the first enemy hero or creep, dealing Physical Damage to enemies nearby, and slowing the enemies hit.
Each time Granger shoots a Super Bullet, he can move to another location. When Death Sonata ends, the cooldown of this skill will be reduced for every remaining Super Bullet.
- This is a skill shot, so it will take time to master. It is better to cast it manually so that you get a better sense of its range and damage effects.
- It is an effective finishing ability and able to reach enemies at long distances. Activate it when you see an enemy with a low HP bar to secure the kill.
- Granger goes in the direction where your joystick is pointed upon activation of this ultimate. It can be used to maintain distance against enemy heroes while dealing damage.
A comprehensive guide on how to play Granger in Mobile Legends
Recommended battle spell
When playing as a gold laner, Purify is the best battle spell option. This allows you to break free from most crowd-control spells of the enemy, giving you time to back off or reengage.
If you want to play more aggressively, choose Flicker as an alternative. It will allow you to be in a better position to land Rhapsody and Death Sonata.

If you are playing as a jungler for your squad, Retribution is the obvious choice.
In Granger’s case, the Ice Retribution is the best blessing. This allows you to steal movement speed from your target depending on your level for several seconds, making you agile while slowing them down.
This means that you will have an easier time landing your skill shots as you’ll be more mobile than the enemy hero inflicted with the spell.
Recommended emblem
Take Rupture as your first-tier talent. This will allow for a better early game as the bonus adaptive penetration will help you deal more damage to enemy heroes and creeps, as well as clear jungle camps faster.
Seasoned Hunter is the perfect second-tier talent as it will boost your chances of securing objectives. As jungle Granger, you must get a good early game to maximize your mid-game power spike.
Finally, take Quantum Charge as your main talent. Each time you hit the enemy with a Basic Attack, you receive a Movement Speed bonus which will help you either chase or back away from engagements.

More than the mobility, you will also benefit from the HP restoration, ensuring that you will have more uptime in fights.
Alternatively, you can get Lethal Ignition as your final talent if you want better kill potential. It allows you to deal more damage when you land your Rhapsody and Basic Attacks on your target.
Granger best build
After boots, prioritize getting Hunter Strike. More than the Physical Attack boost and Cooldown Reduction, the item’s passive, Retribution, synchronizes well with Rhapsody.
After hitting enemies with the skill, you will benefit tremendously from the Movement Speed bonus as you will have superior mobility against enemies.
Enhance your Physical Attack even more by getting Endless Battle and Malefic Roar. When equipped with these items, it is easier for you to take over the game as your bullets will be too much to handle even for the tankiest heroes.

Purchase Bruteforce Breastplate as you transition to the late game. This is a perfect defensive item for Granger since you will not only get a boost in HP and Physical Armor.
The item’s passive, Bruteforce, boosts Physical Attack and Movement Speed after each Basic Attack, depending on the number of stacks acquired.
Round out your item build by buying either Sea Halberd or Blade of Despair.
The best build for Granger in Mobile Legends
- Tough Boots
- Hunter Strike
- Endless Battle
- Malefic Roar
- Bruteforce Breastplate
- Sea Halberd
Tips and easy combos to learn
Playing Granger requires precision and timing. His abilities are powerful but it requires accurate aiming. Your effectiveness on the hero largely depends on your ability to land his skill shots, particularly Rhapsody and Death Sonata.
A simple combo is to use Rondo to dash into a good position, activate Rhapsody to deal damage, and then use Death Sonata to finish off enemies. This not only maximizes damage output but also capitalizes Granger’s mobility.
Timing your ultimate well for when enemies are grouped or low on health can help you secure kills more easily and impact fights.
Granger becomes a real threat once he gets his core items, so make sure to farm efficiently. This is a priority especially when playing as a jungler for the team.
Also, as a marksman, Granger should always stay behind the team’s frontline to avoid getting targeted by enemies. Use Rondo to escape sticky situations.
