The results for ONE Esports Mobile Legends Professional League Invitational 2022 (MPLI 2022) Captain’s Draft are in!
The 16 competing teams have now been sorted into four separate brackets, and will now duke it out in the Land of Dawn starting on November 2 for regional glory.
RSG SG looks to assert dominance once more, having picked long-time rival Slate Esports in their bracket. Elsewhere, ONIC Esports has set up a heated PH and ID showdown in their bracket.
Blacklist International wanted something new, according to head coach Kristoffer Ed “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza, and decided to go for teams that haven’t had a chance to prove their strength on the global stage.
Here are the mechanics and results of the recently-concluded Captain’s Draft.
Captain’s Draft mechanics
The draft sequence was determined before the draft through a lottery system.
MPL PH Season 10 champion Blacklist International, MPL SG Season 4 champion RSG SG, MPL ID Season 10 champion ONIC Esports, and MPL MY Season 10 champion Team HAQ could choose which team they want to face in their respective bracket.
Hosts Rydon “Arashi” Maslimta and Frederick Handy “Mirko” Loho randomly selected each team to determine what order they would draft in. The picks were then carried out, where the draft reverses back and forth between who picks first and last every round.
Draft Order:
- Team HAQ
- RSG SG
- ONIC Esports
