Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario are back.
The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event at the 31st Southeast Asian Games (31st SEA Games) is fast approaching. Arguably the most awaited esports title to be played at the event, seven countries will test their mettle in an effort to bring home a gold medal for their country.
Among the qualified teams, all eyes are on the Philippines’ V33Wise duo, who led Blacklist International to two MPL PH titles and the prestigious M3 World Championship.
The return of OhMyV33nus and Wise to competitive Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
After winning the M3 World Championship in December, the duo decided to take a break for MPL PH Season 9. This move eventually led Blacklist International to struggle in the regular season, finishing last in the regular season with a 3-11 win record.
Now, Blacklist International fans will have something to look forward to as they return to competitive play at the 31st SEA Games. This comes after the duo, along with the veteran midlaner Salic “Hadji” Alauya Imam, fought their way through the PH qualifiers against other top teams in the country such as RSG PH and ONIC PH.
While they are the clear favorites to win it all and bring home the gold once again, other countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia also have solid lineups from their respective MPL regions. Indonesia handpicked their players from EVOS Legends, RRQ Hoshi, and ONIC Esports, while Malaysia held their own qualifiers, with MPL MY Season 9 champion Todak winning it all.
OhMyV33nus and Wise, also known as the pioneers of the UBE strategy, will put their skills to the test once again in the Land of Dawn to see whether they still have what it takes, despite their break.
“Other countries are now getting stronger, so we don’t have an idea right now on which country will be the Philippines’ toughest obstacle,” V33nus said during a press conference in March 17.
