One of Indonesia’s biggest esports organizations is entering the South American region.

Team RRQ has announced it has tapped into the Brazilian market with the formation of RRQ Akira. The team will compete in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Brazil Season 2 (MPL BR Season 2).

Team RRQ first shared the news on their Instagram page, revealing that they have absorbed most of the players from MPL BR Season 1 runner-up Keyd Stars.

“Give them your support, so they can take RRQ to new stages on the international stage. Welcome to the family RRQ Akira, we can do this,” they wrote.

Aside from winning first-runner up in the region’s first MPL, Keyd Stars also represented Brazil at the M3 World Championship last year, along with Red Canids.

This is the first time that a major esports organization in Southeast Asia has formed a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team in the LATAM region.

Team RRQ is known for its seasoned Mobile Legends team in Indonesia, RRQ Hoshi, which is the only team so far to have won three titles in all MPL regions.

As such, the organization’s expansion in Brazil indicates that the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang professional scene outside its Southeast Asian stronghold is getting bigger.

Before the M3 World Championship, Navi surprisingly announced its acquisition of M3 CIS representative Deus Vult.
