The marquee match of MPL ID Season 5’s opening weekend saw reigning champions, EVOS Legends take on RRQ, in a rematch of the M1 World Championship grand finals.

RRQ looked eager to avenge their loss in the M1 World Championship and took control of the game from the start. On the other hand, EVOS, who only retained star players, Gustian “Rekt” and Muhammad “Wann” Ridwan, from their World Championship squad struggled with team coordination.

The play of the match occurred in game two when a huge team clash started with RRQ’s Calvin “Vyn” sending Ihsan “Luminaire” Kusudana right into the middle of RRQ’s huddle, where he was instantly deleted.

EVOS tried to fight back, but RRQ’s Mohammed “Wizzking” Zulkifli caught Raihan “Bajan” Ardy with a deadly Spinning Light Wheel, and then went in to eliminate Rekt and Wann while M “Lemon” Ikhsan chased down Muhammad “Buts” Sanubari, completing the wipeout.

With EVOS dead, RRQ steamrolled to victory, claiming a huge 2-0 over their bitter rivals.
