The Philippines has done it again!
SIBOL’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team won the gold medal at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (32nd SEA Games) after an impressive 3-0 sweep against Malaysia in the grand final.
This marks the third gold medal for the Philippines since the game’s inclusion at the 30th SEA Games in 2019.
The team had a rough start in the group stage when they lost their first game to Malaysia, but went on to win all of their subsequent matches to qualify for the gold medal match.

SIBOL’s MLBB squad swept the all-star lineup of Malaysia in the grand final of the 32nd SEA Games MLBB event
In the first game, SIBOL managed to shut down Malaysia’s Muhammad “MAS CikuGais” Fuad’s Beatrix and Idreen “Momo” Jamal’s Lapu-Lapu in the early game.
However, despite having a 10,000 gold lead advantage, the Filipinos struggled to close it out because of Malaysia’s highly defensive playstyle.
At the 25-minute mark, SIBOL gained the upper hand after eliminating three opponents near the Lord pit. Instead of getting the Lord buff, all five went straight to the base to secure the first game.
The second game was the same story. SIBOL played it patiently against Malaysia. It was another back-and-forth battle until the Filipinos secured their fourth straight Lord at the 20-minute mark, forcing the Malaysian team to retreat.
With no more towers left, the Filipino squad rushed straight into the base, securing the match point.
In the third game, SIBOL opted for a burst lineup consisting of Helcurt, Arlott, and Harith, while Malaysia picked a team fight-centric lineup comprising Fredrinn, Martis, and Karrie.
The Filipinos dominated the game, with Michael “PHI Sayson” Sayson’s Helcurt and Marco “PHI Requitano” Requitano’s Harith putting on the pressure.
The final nail in the coffin was at the 10-minute mark when Rowgien “PHI Unigo” Unigo’s Atlas caught two with a well-timed Fatal Links in the top lane, which resulted in a wipeout.
With the win, SIBOL bagged its third gold medal in a row for MLBB, while Malaysia secured its first SEA Games MLBB silver medal. Myanmar and Cambodia took home the bronze medal.
