Team Flash achieves historic grand final victory against RSG SG in MPL SG Season 6 grand final
RSG had a smooth journey in the upper bracket, defeating HomeBois SG and Team Flash to secure their place in the grand final.
Following their loss to RSG in the upper bracket final, Team Flash overcame EVIL in the lower bracket final to earn a rematch with the defending champions.
RSG had strong performances in the first two games, with MVP-worthy plays by Brayden “BRAYYY” Teo on Alpha in the first game and I “Lucianqt” Pranipata on Mathilda in the second game.
The third game was closely contested for the first 15 minutes, but a game-changing Lord steal by Jay “Jayy” Chng on Faramis at the 16-minute mark gave Team Flash the advantage and their first win of the series.
After a lopsided fourth game in favor of RSG, the team was on the verge of sealing the series with a substantial lead in gold, kills, and towers destroyed.
However, Team Flash stole the win when Jaymark “Hadess” Lazaro pulled off a successful split push on Helcurt in the bottom lane while everyone else was focused on Lord in the top lane at the 19-minute mark.
Game six was another close call. Team Flash was barely holding onto their base 19 minutes into the game. With only a hit away from their base being destroyed, Adam “Adammir” Chong on Fredrinn miraculously defended the base in a 1v4 fight to turn things around to force the decider.
Team Flash capitalized on their momentum, amassing a 10,000 gold lead and clinching the game with a 6-1 kill score in just 14 minutes to win the series in a dramatic fashion in game seven.
For his stellar performance and his miraculous split push play in game five, Filipino import Hadess was named Playoffs MVP.
With the win, they have also secured a slot in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Invitational 2023 (MPLI 2023) in Indonesia next month, as well as the M5 World Championship in the Philippines in December.
