After suffering a heartbreaking run in the previous season, Liquid ECHO is back on top!
Liquid ECHO conquered the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 13 (MPL PH Season 13) after a masterclass in the grand finals, defeating Falcons AP Bren, 4-0.
The victory marks the team’s second title in three seasons. They last claimed the hardware back in MPL PH Season 11 when they defeated their rival, Blacklist International.
Liquid ECHO clean sweeps Falcons AP Bren in the MPL PH Season 13 grand final
Liquid ECHO went on a magnificent run in the MPL PH Season 13 playoffs to punch a ticket to the championship match.
They made quick work of RSG Philippines in the second round of the platoffs, 3-0, before grinding out a win over eventual fellow grand finalist Falcons AP Bren in a five-game banger.
After ousting RSG PH, Falcons AP Bren set up a rerun in the final stage, but the results remained similar.
The Orcas stomped the M5 World Champions from the get-go anchored by a monstrous performance from Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya on his Paquito.
The EXP laner clobbered the Hive’s backline all throughout the game to pave the way for Liquid ECHO’s base push in the 14th minute in game one.
ECHO maintained their aggression in game two, this time on the back of Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales.
The gold laner showed why he was named the M4 Finals MVP after a perfect game on his signature Roger, listing a 6/0/5 KDA.
It was still all Liquid ECHO in the third game who followed through on Alston “Sanji” Pabico’s masterclass on the Valentina to bury the M5 World Champions down three games.
A big brawl at the 18th-minute mark of the fourth game left Sanji the last man standing, opening up the opportunity for the free base push to end the series.
With the victory, Liquid ECHO claimed the lion’s share of the US$150,000 prize pool.
They will also banner the region in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid-Season Cup 2024 (MSC 2024) with Falcons AP Bren in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this August.
