With defending champions Falcons AP Bren out of the running, the M6 World Championship guarantees a new titleholder this year.
MPL PH Season 14 champions Fnatic ONIC PH, led by Duane “Kelra” Pillas, enter the tournament as heavy favorites after a near-perfect 13-1 regular season and a stellar playoff run.
They’re joined by Aurora Gaming, a formidable squad featuring former Blacklist International stars, both teams expected to make a deep impact.
MPL ID teams are coming in strong as well. Team Liquid ID and RRQ Hoshi, representing the Indonesian region, feature fresh talent who’ve already proven their strength this season, making them serious contenders.
A new force in the tournament landscape this year is Malaysia, the host country.
Following Selangor Red Giants‘ impressive win over Falcons AP Bren at MSC 2024, anticipation is high for Malaysia’s performance as they aim to secure their first M-Series crown on home soil.
Several notable non-MPL teams are also joining the mix, including BTK, led by Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun, and Team Spirit, comprising former Deus Vult members.
After their fourth-place finish at the M5 World Championship, all eyes are on these teams as they aim to make their mark in M6.
