With NBA 2K25’s release, many fans are asking, “Does NBA 2K25 have crossplay?”
One of the most talked-about features of the game is its crossplay functionality, along with its broader cross-platform capabilities.
Players across different platforms are eager to learn whether they can finally play together, and how the game incorporates these features.
In this ONE Esports article, we delve into the crossplay and cross-platform support of NBA 2K‘s latest installment.
Does NBA 2K25 have crossplay? Here’s the answer
Crossplay allows players on different gaming platforms to play together, breaking the barrier that previously limited multiplayer experiences.
In NBA 2K25, crossplay is available, but it comes with specific limitations.
Crossplay is available only between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. These current-gen consoles have been prioritized, allowing players on these systems to join games together, regardless of their console brand.
Unfortunately, crossplay is not available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Players on these platforms are restricted to playing within their respective console communities, meaning there is no crossplay between old-gen consoles and current-gen, or between consoles and PC.
Is there cross-platform progression in NBA 2K25?
In terms of cross-platform progression, the game does not offer true cross-progression across different consoles. The progress you made on a PS5 will not carry over to an Xbox Series X|S or vice versa.
However, it allows MyTEAM cross-progression and a shared virtual currency wallet across consoles within the same family, allowing seamless transitions between PS4 and PS5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
So if your MyTEAM progress and VC are synced, you’ll get a unified experience when upgrading within each respective console ecosystem.
