South Korean Overwatch player Dae-kuk “KuKi” Kim has announced his retirement from the Overwatch League (OWL). His team, the Los Angeles Valiant, confirmed the news with an official statement:
KuKi began his competitive Overwatch career in 2016 as a member of South Korea’s Team MVP (formerly MVP Space). A year later, he signed with Seoul Dynasty in time for OWL’s inaugural season. He joined LA Valiant in September 2018.
The 27-year-old played the substitute main tank role, primarily using Winston, Reinhardt, and Orisa. He also played support using Lúcio.
LA Valiant General Manager Michael Schwartz commended KuKi for displaying “utmost professionalism” and “leadership” despite the struggles that he and the team experienced at the beginning of the 2019 season.
