For Overwatch 2 Season 10, Blizzard has mixed things up with Mirrorwatch, an alternate-reality LTM mode where Talon flagbearers are peacemakers.
Overwatch 2 Season 9 was a meta-shaker, tweaking health pools for all heroes, introducing larger projectile sizes, and new passive healing abilities.
On April 23, Blizzard lifted a curtain on the Overwatch 2 Mirrorwatch event, an LTM mode that grants a peek into how things would have been if Mercy wasn’t a medic but a Talon leader.
In Season 10, players can adjust to the previous changes while enjoying a brand-new limited-time mode, which puts Overwatch’s villains in a new, positive light.
What is the Overwatch 2 Mirrorwatch event?
Mirrorwatch is a 5v5 PvP LTM mode with reimagined and updated abilities for 12 heroes. All Overwatch and Talon heroes have swapped sides, and this shift is also reflected in new skins in the battle pass and Overwatch 2 shop.
In Mirrorwatch, the 12 heroes will act differently than in regular games. For example, Doomfist is now an Overwatch soldier whose Seismic Slam and Meteor Strike both heal the allies.
Reinhardt can smash enemies into a wall, and the Damage from Rocket Hammer now gives him increased attack speed. Similar upgrades have been added to each hero’s toolkit.
Some hero skins will be available in the shop, whereas others can be purchased from the shop. Players can also complete challenges to win free goodies and an event-exclusive Orisa skin. All of this will be available until May 13.
Hero abilities swapped in Overwatch 2 Mirrorwatch event
Here are all 12 heroes from the Overwatch 2 Mirrorwatch event who underwent the same treatment after the swap, along with updated abilities:
- Doomfist: Doomfist can leap and smash the ground while granting overhealth to self and nearby allies. His power block now empowers Rocket Punch.
- Ana: Ana is equipped with a long-range rifle that headshots, heals allies, and damages enemies instantaneously. She can also double jump using Lunge.
- Brigitte: Brigette cannot pull enemies closer, set them on fire, and deploy a frontal energy barrier to block damage and empower shield bash.
- Bastion: Bastion is now in Talon and can reveal nearby enemies and increase both attack and reload speed. He’s also equipped with a bomb that bounces off walls and explodes and doesn’t deal with self-damage.
- Echo: Echo’s Flight can damage and knock back enemies.
- Mercy: Mercy’s abilities in Mirrorwatch are enhanced where he can detonate a fallen enemy. Mercy is now a Talon healer and can also boost an ally’s damage inflicted.
- Reinhardt: Mirrowatch updates Reinhardt’s Barrier Field, Earthshatter, and Frenzy, enabling him to increase attack speed with Rocket Hammer.
- Sombra: Sombra can hack allies, providing them with increased attack speed and health. For enemies, Sombra has a virus that infects enemies with a virus projectile that tenderizes them over time.
- Tracer: Tracer’s Blink and Bloodthirst get an update in Mirrorwatch, enabling her to teleport and steal health from enemies.
- Widowmaker: The Widowmaker is an ultimate sharpshooter whose weapon turns into an automatic assault weapon on Primary Fire and a long-ranged sniper weapon on Secondary Fire.
- Zarya: Zarya has a Particle Cannon that becomes a short-range linear beam. On secondary fire, it shoots piercing energy orbs at the enemies.
- Zenyatta: Zenyatta is now a Talon member with Interdiction Zone as a field that prevents enemies from using abilities. She can also heal allies.
Players can also obtain side-swapped skins as part of the Overwatch 2 Mirrorwatch event. Skins for all 12 heroes are available until May 13.
That should give you everything you need to know about the Overwatch 2 Mirrorwatch event.
