Overwatch developer Blizzard Entertainment released earlier today a teaser that may be hinting at the newest hero to join the game’s roster.
The official Overwatch Twitter account tweeted this teaser out, which appears to portray someone trying to hack into a Talon network.

Following the link in the tweet brings up a file posted on the official Overwatch blog, which appears to be written by a Talon agent called Captain Cuerva on the hunt for someone named “Baptiste.”
This Baptiste may very well be hero number 30 for Overwatch, and he is noted in the file to be a very good shot — especially for a medic.
Talon is a criminal organization in the Overwatch universe and players have been given a healthy amount of lore about it since the game launched, notably from the release of Doomfist and his comic Masquerade, the Rialto map, and a number of comics and cinematics.
Delving deeper into the file, we find out that Talon is trying to bring Baptiste back, who seems to have deserted the criminal organization. Captain Cuerva apparently led the Talon strike team sent to recover Baptiste, but several men were lost in the attempt.
“I know better than to underestimate Baptiste. I helped train him myself, and he was one of our best. I’ve never known a medic to be such a good shot, and his adaptability to new situations is a rare talent. All of us have seen our fair share of conflict, but Baptiste was built to survive. I swear he has the Devil’s own luck,” the file reads.
With how Baptiste has been portrayed in the teaser, we can expect that he will be a combat medic of sorts. Hopefully his skillset would be enough to shake up an Overwatch meta that has admittedly gone quite stale.
The last two years has seen the end of February as the time when a new hero would be teased and eventually put on the Overwatch test servers. Orisa was teased in 2017 with Brigitte following suit in 2018, so this new teaser is right on cue.
The location called Tortuga was also noted in the teaser, which could point to it being a new map that will be released alongside the new hero.
Whatever the case may be, we can only wait for more information on the new hero to be released by Blizzard for now.
