Overwatch’s Workshop feature has already produced hundreds of weird and creative game modes. The latest to catch our eye is “Flappy Pharah”, an Overwatch remake of hit mobile game, Flappy Bird.
The game, created by Redditor u/Thriver9, showcases Pharah, the jetpack-wearing rocket queen of Blizzard Entertainment’s team shooter Overwatch. Flappy Pharah uses piled-up green holographic spheres as obstacles instead of the green tubes from the original Flappy Bird.
Flappy Pharah features a side-scrolling 2D view, with the goal of advancing Pharah as far as you can without hitting any of the green obstacles or falling off the map. Tap the spacebar to keep Pharah afloat in her jetsuit, while navigating through the pink skies of the Oasis stage. If the player touches any part of the green holograms, Pharah falls to the ground resulting in a defeat screen.
Dong Nguyen’s mobile game Flappy Bird gained huge popularity when it was released back in 2013, even topping the iOS and Android charts in January 2014. The game was so addictive, there were reports of people breaking their own devices in rage.
