Street Fighter fans will be happy to know that Evo Moment 37 is alive and well in Street Fighter 6.
For those who aren’t familiar with this famous FGC highlight, Evo Moment 37 was when Daigo Umehara perfectly parried a Super Art that Justin Wong used in the semifinals of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike championship at Evo 2004.

The Japanese Street Fighter legend perfectly parried Chun-Li’s 15-hit Houyoku-Sen Super Art and followed it up with Ken’s own Super Art, completing a miraculous comeback that fighting game fans still remember to this day.
How players can still pull off Evo Moment 37 in Street Fighter 6
Fans who want to relive the moment themselves are in luck. Fighting game aficionado Maximillian “Maximilian Dood” Christensen demonstrated that players can replicate Evo Moment 37 in Street Fighter 6 because the game’s new Drive Parry feature works similarly to Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike’s parry system.

In SF6, players can perfectly parry their opponent’s attacks by hitting medium punch and medium kick right before their character is about to get hit. This means they can parry attacks in quick succession if they get the timing right.
We also know that SF6 has a new super mechanic. All characters have three different super tiers ranging from level 1 to level 3, with each one costing a different amount of their gauge meter.
Capcom has revealed that SF6’s Chun-Li has a super move that’s similar to her Houyoku-Sen Super Art from Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
