Reina, the newly introduced character, immediately caught the attention of fans and enthusiasts alike. Positioned as the last piece of the puzzle in the 32-character base roster, she brings a unique martial arts style that adds depth and diversity to the already formidable lineup.

What sets Reina apart is her adoption of the Mishima Style Karate, a martial art closely associated with the iconic family in the Tekken universe.

While characters like Asuka align more closely with Jun and Jin Kazama, Reina appears to channel the ferocity and power reminiscent of Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima. Her fighting style exudes a mean streak, hinting at a deeper connection to the Mishima bloodline. The revelation of Reina’s history with Jin and Kazuya only adds more layers to her character, leaving fans speculating about her role in the overarching narrative of Tekken 8.

One of the standout features of Reina’s move set is her proficiency in Mishima-style techniques, such as the Wind God Fist and Spinning Demon. These moves, synonymous with the Mishima karate tradition, showcase her connection to the family’s powerful martial arts legacy. Furthermore, Reina introduces a power fighter aspect, drawing inspiration from the Heaven’s Wrath stance once utilized by the now-deceased Heihachi Mishima. Her offensive prowess, especially near walls, sets her apart as a formidable force in the game.

Reina’s character design and move set emphasize a fascinating duality. In a strategic move to create a distinct counterpart to the raw power of Mishima-style karate, the developers incorporated Taido as her secondary fighting style. Taido, known for its graceful and speedy movements, complements the sharp and agile attacks associated with Reina. This combination of martial arts styles not only makes her a visually compelling character but also adds strategic depth to her gameplay, offering players a unique and versatile experience.
