Much like the routine on official fighting game websites, Tekken 8’s site boasts a roster of characters currently revealed.

However, what truly captures attention is the appearance of six mysterious placeholders, specifically reserved for the Tekken 8 unannounced characters.

These are additional character slots that go over and above the two latest characters that were recently unveiled at Evo 2023, Raven and Azucena.

At present, the website proudly showcases the ensemble of 18 characters that have received official introductions: Kazuya, Jin, King, Jun, Paul, Law, Jack-8, Lars, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Asuka, Lili, Bryan, Hwoarang, Claudio, Raven, and the newcomer Azucena.

Positioned beneath the existing cast are six additional slots, each elegantly adorned with a discreet chain emblem. These symbols not only bear Tekken 8’s insignia but also subtly signify the current concealed status of these placeholders, increasing the anticipation surrounding the impending revelations of Tekken 8 unannounced characters.

Interestingly, a significant message graces the space below these slots, cryptically declaring “more coming soon,” possibly alluding to a forthcoming expansion of the Tekken 8 launch roster.

The conviction that the initial roster of Tekken 8 will transcend the existing 18 fighters is no secret. This conclusion is not solely derived from the extra slots that now embellish the website, but is also underpinned by statements made earlier this year by Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada who alluded that Tekken 8 will offer a larger roster than that of Street Fighter 6, a title that debuted with a roster of 18 fighters.

The integration of these six supplementary slots brings forth the potential for the launch roster to have a grand total of 24 characters that could be expanded in the future with DLCs.
