Meet Clove, Valorant’s game-changing 25th agent, pushing the boundaries of what a controller can do.
The Clove abilities are poised to redefine Valorant’s meta and shift most agent compositions in competitive and professional play.
Clove brings a Scottish flair to the game. Once you learn what this smoke specialist is capable of, you won’t be surprised if they become the most picked agent in Valorant.
Let’s delve into all of their abilities in detail.
All Clove abilities explained
Pick Me Up (C) 1 charge
After securing a frag, players can press C to gain an overheal, similar to Reyna’s Devour ability.
Pick Me Up grants an additional 100 health, encouraging controller players to take more duels.
The ability costs only 100 credits, making it more affordable than Reyna’s Soul Orb, which costs 200 credits.
Meddle (Q) 1 charge
Clove’s Q ability is Meddle, a throwable orb that temporarily decays all enemies caught in its area of effect.
Upon contact, the orb inflicts 90 decay damage, effectively reducing affected enemies to a one-shot kill with Phantom or Vandal if they have half armor.
The orb costs 250 credits, providing strategic value in disrupting enemy positions.
Ruse (E) 2 charges
Clove’s Ruse deploys smokes similar to Omen’s Dark Cover.
Ruse is the same size as Brimstone’s and regenerates after only 30 seconds, compared to Omen’s 40-second regeneration time.
The second smoke costs 150 credits, making it cheaper than Astra’s but slightly more expensive than Brimstone’s and Omen’s.
A unique feature of Clove’s smokes is the ability to use them after death, providing strategic utility even after being eliminated.
Not Dead Yet (X) 7 ultimate orbs
Clove’s ultimate ability, Not Dead Yet, allows them to self-resurrect after death. However, there are two major drawbacks to this ability.
Firstly, Clove can only activate Not Dead Yet a few seconds after being taken down, similar to Jett’s dash window.
Secondly, players have a short time to seek cover after activation, as they become an easy target for nearby enemies. Not Dead Yet requires seven ultimate orbs to activate, one less than Sage’s Resurrection ultimate.
Clove is a versatile agent, capable of fulfilling the controller role while excelling as an entry fragger. Their abilities enable them to manipulate the battlefield with strategic smokes and encourage an aggressive playstyle with the Pick Me Up heal.
Whether casting smokes to obscure enemy vision or defying death itself with their Not Dead Yet self-resurrection ultimate, Clove stands as a formidable force, capable of turning the tide of any match in their favor.
