Gen.G Esports reclaim their throne as VCT Pacific kings, securing a hard-fought 3-1 victory over DRX in the grand final of VCT Pacific Stage 2 on July 21, 2024.

The series culminated in two dramatic overtime map wins, propelling Gen.G to the top of VCT Pacific. With this tournament win, the team earned a US$100,000 prize and secured the Pacific region’s top seed for Valorant Champions 2024.



Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom’s exceptional performance throughout the series earned him the tournament MVP award. He put together an impressive 61/51/38 KDA.

DRX take a 1-0 lead on Haven

DRX started the best-of-five series with a strong performance, winning the first nine rounds of map 1.

Gen.G attempted a comeback by winning the pistol round after halftime, narrowing the gap to 10-4.



DRX strategically pressured the A site, avoiding Gen.G’s defensive anchor, Kim “Karon” Won-tae. Their efforts paid off as DRX decisively won map 1 with a score of 13-6.

Gen.G evens the series on Bind

The second map, Bind, was a closely contested battle, with both teams exchanging thrifty rounds. At halftime, Gen.G held a narrow 7-5 lead.

After that, DRX mounted a comeback, pushing the match to a 12-12 overtime.



In overtime, both teams traded rounds until Gen.G emerged victorious in the fifth OT round, winning 18-16.

Munchkin delivered a clutch performance for Gen.G, finishing with a 34/20/17 KDA and 271 ACS.

The third map, Lotus, mirrored the previous map, Bind, with both teams trading crucial round wins. After trailing DRX 5-7 at halftime, Gen.G rallied by winning the first four rounds after.

Gen.G pushed the match to overtime in the third map of the series and grabbed victory in the first overtime round, winning 14-12.

Gen.G wins the series 3-1 on Icebox

In the fourth and final map, Gen.G capitalized on their momentum from back-to-back overtime victories, taking a slight 7-5 lead at halftime.



In the second half, Gen.G dominated, winning four consecutive rounds after the second pistol round to clinch the VCT Pacific Stage 2 trophy with a 13-6 victory.
