Shopify Rebellion have picked up the former Luminosity Gaming Valorant roster, barely a month after Luminosity announced that they were leaving the game.

At the time, the Luminosity team had announced their intention to stick together, along with head coach Jared “mac” Schneider and manager Connor Larkin. Shopify has signed the roster in its entirety, marking its first entrance into the main VCT circuit.

Previously, the organization had only fielded a female Game Changers roster. That roster remains one of the best Game Changers teams in North America, making it to two back-to-back grand finals in VCT Game Changers NA and losing only to Cloud9 White.

Shopify Rebellion will field a roster for upcoming NA LCQ

While the new Shopify roster exited the VCT NA Stage 2 playoffs after losses to OpTic Gaming and FaZe Clan, they still have the upcoming NA Last Chance Qualifier on the horizon.

With 70 VCT circuit points, the Shopify roster is comfortably within the top 10 teams in North America to lock a spot at the LCQ in August, where they will have one final chance to qualify for Valorant Champions in September.

Shopify will be hosting the team at their own facility, according to Adam “mada” Pampuch, where they will begin preparing for the LCQ.

Under Luminosity, the team was a mainstay in the VCT NA Challengers playoffs, notching at least a top eight placing in both stages.

Shopify is also one of the organizations to have announced their application for partnership in Riot Game’s new model for Valorant esports in 2023.

Over 150 organizations globally have reportedly applied for partnership status in the coming year, but only a handful of slots are available in each of the three international leagues.
