The economy of Valorant is shifting—and we’re not talking about the price of Phantoms, Vandals, or Operators during your buy rounds.
The Valorant price update is coming to Valorant Points (VP), the in-game currency players use to purchase weapon skins, bundles, battle passes, and much more.
On September 4, 2024, Riot Games officially announced these upcoming regional price adjustments, explaining why these changes are being made, outlining the new price updates for various regions, and providing details on when these changes will take effect.
Why is Valorant Getting a regional price update?
Riot Games attributes this price update to three main factors, most of which stem from fluctuations in the global economy.
Different regions worldwide have varying exchange rates, making pricing inconsistent across countries. Riot Games aims to balance the value of Valorant VP to ensure fairness across regions.
Significant differences in prices between regions have led to third-party manipulation, with some players using VPNs and server transfers to buy currency in cheaper regions and then sell it elsewhere for a profit.
Lastly, some regions have seen economic changes that require price adjustments, either increasing or decreasing VP costs, to maintain consistency with local currencies and economies.
Although these changes may not be welcome news for everyone, Riot Games insists they are necessary to create a more balanced and fair pricing system, ensuring all players are on a level playing field.
