The Valorant Champions 2024 bundle and team capsules have set a new benchmark for esports skin revenue, with all 44 VCT-partnered teams collectively earning over US$35 million.
This impressive figure represents nearly double the earnings from the previous year’s esports skins, where the Valorant Champions 2023 bundle earned US$20 million.
Riot Games President of Esports, John Needham, announced the milestone on August 21, 2024, during the Valorant Champions 2024 media day.
The Valorant Champions 2024 bundle, featuring a Phantom, melee, buddy, player card, and spray, was priced at 6,167 Valorant Points (VP). Americas, EMEA, and Pacific team capsules were available for 2,340 VP each, while VCT China team capsules were priced at 1,880 VP.
Valorant Champions 2024 bundle and team capsules reaches new earning milestone
Riot Games has confirmed that 50 percent of net proceeds from the team’s capsules are shared with the respective VCT partner teams, and all VCT partnered teams get a revenue split from the Valorant Champions 2024 bundle.
Last year, only the 16 teams that qualified for Valorant Champions 2023 got a split of the Champs bundle earnings.
While the revenue split for the Valorant Champions 2024 bundle and team capsules between teams was not disclosed, a rough calculation suggests that each team would receive approximately US$800,000 if the US$35 million were divided equally among the 44 teams.
The Valorant Champions 2024 skins were released on August 1, 2024, while the team capsules became available on February 21, 2024, at the start of the VCT 2024 season.
The Champions Bundle will remain in the store until August 29, 2024, while the team capsules will be available until September 12, 2024.
