T1 has released Victor “food” Wong and Austin “crashies” Roberts from its Valorant roster.
The announcement was made via tweet, in which T1 thanked both players for their hard work and wished them the best in their future endeavors.
Crashies was signed by the team in late April, while food was added to the lineup nearly a month after. Both players helped T1 finish in second place — which was their highest placing in an Ignition Series event — against TSM at the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown.
But, since then, the team has come up short in the remaining Ignition Series events of the year. The team even struggled to make it out of the group stage during the Pittsburgh Knights Invitational Gauntlet Series and the final NA Ignition Series event in Pop Flash.

Food and crashies were two talented players who caught T1’s attention early because of their professional CS:GO backgrounds. Food was even the first Radiant ranked player in North America after Valorant’s official launch.
However, T1’s Valorant squad were faced with controversy after the team’s most decorated player, Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham decided to step down from being an active roster member. Food was at the center of the incident, after a leaked screenshot of him talking about Skadoodle’s lackluster comms was shared.
With Skadoodle still on the sideline, T1 only has Braxton “brax” Pierce and Keven “AZK” Lariviere, together with coach and stand-in Daniel “fRoD” Montanar, as active members.
However, there have been more ex-CS:GO players who’ve decided to make the switch to Valorant recently; the most notable player being Josh “steel” Nissan who was brax, AZK, and Skadoodle’s teammate in the infamous iBuyPower CS:GO team that was banned from competing in Valve events due to match fixing.
