Team Liquid has significantly changed their Valorant roster for the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour season.
On November 5, the European esports organization announced its full roster, which includes three new members who will join Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin, Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen, and coach Emil “eMIL” Sandgren.
Fortnite star turned Valorant pro Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy will join the Liquid roster. He will be joined by former Fnatic players James “Mistic” Orfila and Enzo “Enzo” Mestari, with the latter taking the role of Liquid’s new IGL (in-game leader).
The trio were all members of Apek’s Valorant team last season that placed second in the Ascension EMEA 2023 tournament, losing to Gentle Mates 3-0 in the grand final.
Team Liquid adds two ex-Fnatic players to their Valorant roster
Liquid faced a challenging start to their 2023 VCT season. They were among the initial teams to be eliminated during VCT LOCK//IN, as they suffered a 2-0 defeat in their first match against Team Secret.
In the following VCT event, Liquid made a strong comeback by winning the VCT EMEA League trophy. They achieved this by defeating Fnatic in the grand final with a score of 3-1, marking Fnatic’s first loss of the season.
Liquid made another impressive run at Masters Tokyo, tying for 5th place. But the team lost steam in the last tournament of the season, finishing in joint-13th at Valorant Champions 2023.
In the offseason, Dom “soulcas” Sulcas mutually parted ways with the organization. Meanwhile, Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel joined Team Vitality, while Igor “Redgar” Vlasov signed with Giants.
Keiko will be Liquid’s new duelist main, while Mystic will take over the controller role for the team. NAts and Jamppi will continue to play the same positions they had in the VCT 2023 season.
