A new Valorant agent is poised to disrupt the game’s controller meta.
Valorant Agent 25 marks the first addition to the roster in 2024. Riot Games’ developers have dropped many hints about the identity and capabilities of this new controller agent.
The debut of this agent is scheduled for March 24, coinciding with the final day of VCT Masters Madrid.

After witnessing the agent’s full capabilities at Masters Madrid, players can expect access to the new controller sometime around March 27, the scheduled date when patches are added to the game.
Valorant Agent 25 is an entry fragging controller
The first clue hinting at the next agent being a controller was the Chrysalis player card, featured in Episode 8 Act 1’s Battle Pass.
The card’s circular design in the middle has sparked discussions, with some speculating on its connection to a smoke ability and the potential introduction of a new controller agent.
This was followed by a teaser on Riot Games’ Valorant X account, showcasing the agent’s hand emerging from pink/purple smoke with a butterfly perched on their fingertip.
This image suggests that Valorant Agent 25 may possess the ability not only to cast smokes but also manipulate them, potentially providing visual assistance to see what lies beyond their smokes.
Two significant hints about Valorant Agent 25’s background were revealed, with subtle changes to the maps Breeze and Sunset.
Near Breeze’s attackers’ spawn, Rudy’s Radio Shack now features the same butterflies seen in Riot Games’ social post, along with what appears to be a music poster.
Similarly, more posters with the caption “2 Worlds” were added to Sunset’s attacker spawn.
Another teaser seen on both maps included a vinyl record cover featuring the image of what could be Valorant Agent 25’s smoke ability icon.
These Easter Eggs suggest that the controller agent might be a music artist by day and a member of the Valorant Protocol by night.
The most concrete information about Valorant Agent 25 was revealed in a YouTube short by Riot Games’ Lead Agent Developer, John Goscicki.
He explained that most controller players choose to use smokes because they understand the team’s strategic needs. They often play passively from the back line to provide utility for their team.

“You want to take on fights with your team but can’t from the back,” he said. “It was this conundrum that we thought about when creating Agent 25.”
According to Goscicki, Valorant Agent 25 will cater to mischievous risk-takers, suggesting that the new controller agent has the potential for entry kills.
