Riot Games teased Valorant’s release since 2019
Riot Games mentioned that they were working on an FPS under the name Project A way back in October 2019.
They even released a video of in-game footage from their alpha test, showing their developers playing the game.
The dynamic gameplay and the idea of a 5v5 tactical FPS game quickly caught the world’s attention.
The description under the video said the game would be available to play in summer 2020, heightening the anticipation further.
The Valorant closed beta

Riot Games chose to launch a closed beta on April 7, 2020, for Valorant.
They gave streamers and other selected people access to the game, and the public could get access to keys for the game through Twitch Drops by watching their streamed gameplay.
When did Valorant come out officially?

Valorant’s beta ended on May 28, and after a few days of the game’s servers being taken offline, the game was released globally (except China) on June 2, 2020.
China saw the game released recently in July 2023. Riot Games have also been teasing a mobile-ready version of Valorant, although there is no announced release date for this.
