Support mains who enjoy a mix of engaging and peeling for your team, rejoice! League of Legends: Wild Rift patch 2.4b is here to buff two of your favorite, most abs–olutely flexible champions, Thresh and Rakan.
Going by champion design alone, Thresh has always been a staple in pro play on PC, and now on mobile. He is relevant no matter the meta, especially since he’s a high skill-capped champion.
Rakan functions similar to Thresh, but of course the way he engages and finds picks differs greatly. When The Quickness is used, it means committing to a team fight.
Thresh buffs in Wild Rift patch 2.4b
Base Stats
- Base health increased from 570 to 610
- Base health regen increased from 7.5 to 11
(P) Damnation
- Base soul drop rate increased from 33% to 40%, bad luck protection unchanged
(2) Dark Passage
- Shield strength increased from 55/110/165/220 to 65/115/165/215
(3) Flay
- Passive charge time decreased from 10s to 6s
Support mains who have been spending time leveling up their mastery on Thresh would find that his soul drop rate has been quite low. Recognizing this issue, Riot has increased the rate to 40%, so more armor and AP will be coming your way.
Flay’s passive allows Thresh to deal bonus magic damage on each auto-attack. Having four seconds shaved off is significant, and we imagine Thresh mains will be having a field day weaving in more autos in between abilities.
Already on patch 2.4a, Wild Rift caster and content creator Ceirnan “Excoundrel” Lowe rated Thresh as A+ tier among supports, “In the right hands, landing hooks consistently, Thresh can feel really, really powerful.”
Looking at these ability and base health buffs in Wild Rift patch 2.4b — which makes him tankier and better at dealing with enchanters — he’s definitely S-tier now.

Rakan buffs in Wild Rift patch 2.4b
(2) Grand Entrance
- Base damage increased from 70/140/210/280 to 80/150/220/290
(3) Battle Dance
- Bonus shield amount when cast on Xayah decreased from 200% to 125%
(Ult) The Quickness
- Movement speed increased from 50% to 60%
Rakan is already strong in the current support meta, but more so when he’s paired with Xayah. Taking a hit to Battle Dance, its bonus shield has been significantly nerfed.
That said, to balance out the changes in Wild Rift patch 2.4b, Riot increased Grand Entrance’s base damage by 10 at all levels and increased his initiating power by upping the movement speed of The Quickness.
This means that when Rakan lands all of his spells, he will be hitting harder. Players will also find it slightly easier to catch out unsuspecting or mispositioned champions on the map.
