Wuthering Waves is an open-world action RPG renowned for its stunning visuals and adrenaline-pumping gameplay.
Set in a hauntingly beautiful, yet treacherous post-apocalyptic wasteland, players assume the role of a male or female protagonist entrusted with the mission of saving the world inhabited by monsters.
Additionally, players can switch between other characters, referred to as Resonators, during battles. Each Resonator possesses its own distinct set of abilities and weapons.
With gameplay mechanics and art style reminiscent of popular RPG titles such as Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy, many are now wondering: Is Wuthering Waves a gacha game as well?
Is Wuthering Waves a gacha game?
Wuthering Waves features a gacha system known as Convene, through which players can obtain Resonators and weapons.
At the main menu screen, players can access multiple Convenes.
For newcomers, the Novice Convene is available, offering a discounted cost of eight draws. Additionally, there’s a guarantee of acquiring a five-star Resonator within 50 pulls.
Furthermore, there are special Resonator and Weapon Event Convenes, providing opportunities to obtain time-limited rewards.
Lastly, players can access the standard Resonator and Weapon Convene for regular draws.
The game also implements a pity system and a 50/50 mechanism when drawing Resonators.
Within 80 pulls, players are guaranteed to obtain a five-star Resonator. However, there’s a twist: there’s a chance to receive either the time-limited character or a standard character.
For weapon banners, they do not follow the 50/50 system. In the Weapon Event Convene, all drawn weapons are the event weapon itself.
In the standard Weapon Permanent Convene, players have the freedom to choose the type of weapon they desire.
