Many Steam Deck users are asking this question: “Is Wuthering Waves playable on Steam Deck?”
As you may know, Kuro Games’ open-world ARPG is available on PC and mobile, with a promised PlayStation release.
If you own a Steam Deck or are looking to purchase one but don’t know whether the game is playable on this device, you have come to the right place.
Is Wuthering Waves playable on Steam Deck? Here’s the answer
The short answer is no. The game is not playable on Steam Deck’s Linux-based system.
That is the case with many other games. However, they still run on Steam Deck through workarounds, and the same is true for Wuthering Waves.
While the Steam Deck doesn’t natively support the game, you can install and run it through Windows mode via Epic Games Launcher, or by setting it as a Non-Steam game and adding it to the Steam library.
Fortunately, there are alternative methods to install the game, such as using Lutris or Proton GE, both of which are available for download from Steam Deck’s Discover Shop.
However, it’s crucial to note that even if you manage to install Wuthering Waves on your Steam Deck, running it smoothly is a different challenge altogether.
Most of the time, the game does not even open, and sometimes, it crashes. When it does run, it operates poorly, and hardly manages 30 FPS at low settings.
Meanwhile, there are other handhelds like the Legion Go that can efficiently run the game at 45 FPS and more without crashes.
That being said, if you are looking forward to playing Wuthering Waves on a handheld console, the Steam Deck might not be the best choice for you at the moment.
So, we recommend waiting until Kuro Games makes the game natively available on the Steam Deck.
