Changli is a 5-star Fusion character in Wuthering Waves. She can function as a DPS and sub-DPS character, with the latter being primarily because of her excellent Outro skill that can boost the incoming character’s Fusion and Resonance Liberation damage.
With that in mind, what exactly is the best Changli team that will let her flourish in battle?
Contrary to her reserved nature, Changli can be a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, dealing crippling damage to enemies from her skill and ultimate abilities.
However, to unleash Changli’s full potential, you will need an amplifier to boost her abilities and a sub-DPS character to quick-swap while her ultimate and forte circuit recharges.

If you want to put together a premium Changli team in Wuthering Waves, we recommend pairing her with Encore/Jinhsi and Verina.
Encore is not just one of the best DPS characters in Wuthering Waves; she has the best synergy with Changli, at least for now. As both characters deal Fusion damage, Encore can benefit significantly from Changli’s Outro skill since it can boost her Fusion and Resonance Liberation damage.
Encore deals the most damage from her enhanced basic attack Cosmos: Frolicking, which procs after she uses her ultimate ability, aka, Resonance Liberation, and that extra boost from Changli’s Outro can make her more lethal.
Lastly, since both characters have long animations, they work well under a quick-swap strategy. Encore’s Outro skill can create a flame zone that continuously burns enemies and deals Fusion damage, and Changli can sweep right in, deal more Fusion damage, and gain True Sight, which gives her access to enhanced basic attacks and skill.
You can replace Encore with Jinhsi and still have a quick-swap Changli team that benefits both Jinhsi and Changli. Jinhsi deals the most damage from her enhanced basic attack and skill, which can be boosted by consuming Incandescence.
Fortunately, she can gain Incandescene quickly, thanks to Verina’s coordinated attacks and Changli’s attribute damage. On the other hand, Changli can activate True Sight more quickly, thanks to Jinhsi’s Unison buff, which gives her an extra chance to unleash her Outro skill and the incoming character’s Intro skill.
Verina, on the other hand, can use her Outro skill to heal and buff everyone’s attack. She can also do the same by using her ultimate and enhanced abilities.
This Changli team benefits the most from having Verina on the team because it allows Changli to deal more damage, thanks to the attack buff she gains from Verina. The additional damage boost comes in handy, especially when Changli unleashes her heavy attack, Flaming Sacrifice, or her Resonance Liberation, Radiance of Fealty, as it allows her to ignore 15% of the enemy’s defense and deal more Fusion damage.
Changli has terrible defense, so Verina’s continuous healing can drastically increase her survivability, which is crucial when playing late-game activities like Tower of Adversity.
It’s worth pointing out that aside from the support from Verina, Changli herself doesn’t have direct synergy with other team members like Encore or Jinhsi.
If anything, Encore and Jinhsi benefit more from having Changli on the team than vice versa, but it shouldn’t be an issue since these are all meta characters that can clear most content in the game with just the right amount of aid from their party members.
Right now, Changli is a more self-contained DPS unit (similar to Topaz in Honkai Star Rail 1.4) that will hopefully have better synergy with upcoming 5-star and 4-star characters.

If you want to put together a budget-friendly Changli team in Wuthering Waves, we recommend going with Chixia and Baizhi.
Chixia is a solid alternative if you don’t have Encore. She can benefit from Changli’s Fusion and Resonance Liberation damage boost, though she doesn’t deal as much damage as Encore.
It’s okay, though, because Chixia is still a fairly balanced character who can dish out decent Fusion damage. Speaking of which, her Outro skill can deal massive AOE Fusion damage, so you would want to switch to Changli as much as possible.
You can also swap Chixia with Havoc Rover, as she can take advantage of the Resonance Liberation boost from Changli’s Outro skill to deal a ton of Havoc damage.
Baizhi can use her Resonance Skill and Resonance Liberation to heal all party members. Most importantly, her Resonance Skill can boost the attack of the character who picks up her Euphonia. Both Changli and Chixia (or Havoc Rover) can benefit from this, though you would want to prioritize Changli for the maximum effect.
Additionally, Baizhi’s Outro skill can heal and provide a 15% Damage-Deepen boost to the incoming character, so you can always swap out to Changli to get that extra damage multiplier for six seconds.
Keep in mind that as more characters are introduced to Wuthering Waves, that the best Changli team will likely change over time. For now, these teams will tide you over until that time comes.
