In this guide, we’ll answer those burning questions and delve into the depths of Zenless Zone Zero’s game modes to see if it features any co-op aspects.
Buckle up, and let’s explore what you and your friends can experience together in this action role-playing game.
What is Zenless Zone Zero or ZZZ?
ZZZ, which stands for Zenless Zone Zero, is an action role-playing game (ARPG) from HoYoverse, the same studio that brought you popular titles like Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, and Honkai Star Rail.
In Zenless Zone Zero, you’ll dive into a world where a mysterious disaster called “Hollows” has shaken things up. You take on the role of a Proxy, venturing into these perilous dimensions to explore and fight alongside a cast of unique playable characters called Agents.
In this game, you build a team of Agents with diverse skills to conquer the challenges within the Hollows.
Does ZZZ have co-op?
There are plenty of things to do as a solo player in the game, but you might be wondering if some of these things can be done with other Proxies. “Does ZZZ have co-op?” and “Is ZZZ multiplayer?” are just some of the questions that come to mind.
The answer is yes, ZZZ features co-op elements in a limited capacity. It’s not a fully open-world co-op experience like some other games, but it allows you to team up with friends for specific activities.
There are two primary ways to team up with friends in ZZZ: Arcade Mode and Notorious Hunt. We’ll delve into each of these modes in more detail to understand how co-op functions within them.
Zenless Zone Zero multiplayer in Arcade Mode
Zenless Zone Zero’s co-op fun kicks off in the Godfinger arcade located on Sixth Street. This permanent game mode is your go-to spot for some lighthearted competition with friends whenever you feel the urge.
As of writing, two mini-games offer co-op in Arcade Mode: Snake Duel – Clash and Soul Hounds III – Group Hunt.
Snake Duel – Clash takes inspiration from the classic mobile game Snake, but with a co-op twist. You’ll team up with another player to form a 2v2 duo and battle it out against opposing teams in a fast-paced arena.
In Soul Hands III – Group Hunt, you and three other players go against each other to break down an endless pit of blocks.
Zenless Zone Zero in Notorious Hunt
Zenless Zone Zero’s co-op extends beyond the arcade to a more challenging cooperative activity: Notorious Hunt. This mode throws you and two other players into intense boss battles, testing your teamwork and combat skills.
To ensure a smooth online experience, co-op in Notorious Hunt is limited to players within the same region where your account is registered.
