In Genshin Impact, characters can go up to level 90. In Honkai Star Rail, the max level for characters is 80.
Clearly, not all HoYoverse games are made equal, which is why it’s important to take note of the max level of Agents in Zenless Zone Zero that’s unique to the action RPG.
Set in a post-apocalyptic city called New Eridu, ZZZ features stylish combat and a distinct visual style that sets it apart from the award-winning open-world hit RPG Genshin Impact (2020) and turn-based RPG Honkai Star Rail (2023).
In the first two hit games, you field a maximum of four characters per party. Besides increasing their level, you’ll also need to up their skills and equip them with the right weapon and lightcone respectively.
In Zenless Zone Zero, your party is limited to three. To rise up to the challenge and claim rewards, you’ll need to ensure your Agents are strengthened. Recommended levels are usually stated in-game so remember to check the details, level up your talents, and equip them with suitable W-Engines and Drive Discs.
Max level of agents in Zenless Zone Zero, how to increase, how to claim rewards
The max level of agents in Zenless Zone Zero is 60.
To reach level 60, there are a couple of things you need to take note of, for it’s not a straight road. First off, you’ll need to ensure you have enough EXP materials.
ZZZ AGENT PROMOTION EXP MATERIAL | DESCRIPTION |
Trainee Investigator Log | Provides 100 EXP for an Agent |
Official Investigator Log | Provides 600 EXP for an Agent |
Senior Investigator Log | Provides 3,000 EXP for an Agent |
Just like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, there are standard EXP materials that are used to level up all characters. In ZZZ, they’re called Investigator Logs that provide 100 EXP, 600 EXP, and 3,000 EXP respectively.
Secondly, you’ll need to Promote your Agents (that is, Ascension as Genshin and Honkai Star Rail players know it) at milestone levels. These require another set of materials called Certification Seals.
Agent level up materials in Zenless Zone Zero
ZENLESS ZONE ZERO AGENT SPECIALTY TYPE | LEVEL 10 | LEVEL 20, 30 | LEVEL 40, 50 |
Offense | Basic Offense Certification Seal | Advanced Offense Certification Seal | Pioneer’s Certification Seal |
Stun | Basic Stun Certification Seal | Advanced Stun Certification Seal | Buster Certification Seal |
Anomaly | Basic Anomaly Certification Seal | Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal | Controller Certification Seal |
Support | Basic Support Certification Seal | Advanced Support Certification Seal | Ruler Certification Seal |
Defense | Basic Defense Certification Seal | Advanced Defense Certification Seal | Defender Certification Seal |
Secondly, you’ll need to ensure that you upkeep your Inter-Knot Level, for it limits your Agent level. Levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 are milestone markers.
From Inter-Knot Level 20 onwards, you’ll need to clear the Inter-Knot Reputation Rank-Up mission — the equivalent of Ascension Quests in Genshin Impact and Trial of the Equilibrium in Honkai Star Rail — to progress.
Once you’ve got these two essentials settled, it’s going to be up to you to tailor your W-Engine and Disc Drives for each Agent.
At character levels 20, 40, and 60, you can claim additional rewards for promoting your Agent.
Click on the colorful reel icon on the top right hand corner of your Agent’s profile (we’ve circled it in red) to open the Promotion Preview screen to claim rewards. Alternatively, you can also press the (!) button.
